For many, the $9.99 Buffett and Munger squishmallows, made by Berkshire-acquired toy company Jazwares, were a must-have souvenir.

Omaha police cut a long line to shop two hours early. "No more sales," said one official.

Michelle Young of Cottonwood, Arizona, who once ran a ceramics studio, was able to snag a pair, saying she was "fascinated by Warren and Charlie."

Some 10,000 Buffett and Munger squishmallows were sold, fetching $255 on May 8 at an eBay auction.

Jazwares, whose former parent company Alleghany Corp. was acquired by Berkshire in October, declined to comment on second-hand sales. eBay Inc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Visitors to Omaha over the weekend included many first-time visitors as well as those who had been there for decades.

Many said they were excited to see Buffett and Munger, who are 92 and 99, respectively, while they still could. Some have vowed to return even if they are no longer there or if events are winding down.

"ONE in a billion"

On May 6, Buffett and Munger appeared before a packed audience in the 18,300-seat downtown arena. Thousands of shareholders lined up hours before the doors opened at 7 a.m. to se her.

Berkshire Weekend draws tens of thousands of people, and of Omaha's annual events, only the College World Series brings more business to the city.

Cissy Zhang, a business consultant from Madison, Wisconsin, who was in attendance with her 5-year-old son and his parents, who flew in from China, said she will attend "at least one more time." Running it all is teamwork. He's not just a man."

Richard Callahan, a local banker, hopes the attendance will dwindle without Buffett and Munger showing the "zeal" of Buffett and Munger, but said he will go anyway.

But while shareholders were pleased with Berkshire's long-term plan, many were skeptical when asked if the weekend would still be a big win without Buffett, Munger or both.

"No," said Bill Smead, who runs Smead Capital Management in Phoenix. "These two guys were one in a billion."

Berkshire declined to comment on May 8.

Enthusiasm “contagious”

For decades, Berkshire has been planning when Buffett, who has led the company since 1965, and Munger, who has been vice chairman of the board since 1978, disappear.

Greg Abel, who runs the non-insurance business, will become CEO, while Todd Combs and Ted Weschler, who manage some investments, could take over.

Ajit Jain would remain in charge of the insurance. And Buffett's eldest son, Howard, would become non-executive chairman.

At the May 6 meeting, Buffett and Munger discussed, among other things, how mismanagement and greed were at the root of this year's banking turmoil.

"You come here to hear the same wonderful message, to refresh yourself and set your mind on the right track," Mark Blakley, a Tulsa, Okla., corporate benefits supervisor, said at his 14th meeting.
